LoF5 Artist: Carol Skinger

I would like to introduce everyone to Carol Skinger.  I’ve had the opportunity to connect with Carol via email–we’ve discussed at length our fear of aim, sometimes thwarted, to quickly master new technology (more, Carol has been my shoulder to cry on about such matters.)

I think you will all be very happy to see her wonderful greeting cards and other drawings at LoF5.  Make sure to say hi, pick up a few cards for yourselves, your loved ones…all the important people in your life–even those you’ve yet to meet.

Here is a note from Carol:

Drawing, painting and photography are and have been a constant practice before, during and after art school in the Bay Area and throughout my professional design career.  For over 20 years I practiced commercial and corporate interior design working in architectural firms in Vermont, Boston and Pittsburgh.  I still consult and offer second opinions on interior design, most recently a farmhouse in the Berkshires.

My art work walks the line from exploring ideas I am interested in with no thought to sales, to working out areas of expression with a definite mind toward sales.  Living in Pittsburgh since the early 1980’s, the subject of Pittsburgh has gotten into much of my work in every way imaginable.  I work primarily in watercolor, pastel, oil, and ink, and I also employ my altered digital photographs in creating art.  In addition to my original artwork, I have both prints and greeting cards available on my website.
